A peak detector is a series connection of a diode and a capacitor outputting a DC voltage equal to the peak value of the applied AC signal. This Simple Peak Detector Circuit Diagram operates from 5V DC and can detect signals up to 150 KHz. The LM393 series consists of two independent precision voltage comparators with an offset voltage specification as low as 2.0 mV max for two comparators.
