According to Wikipedia.org, a digital clock is a type of clock that displays the time digitally. Generally a digital clock handles gearing with a component called a "counter" and there is a display, usually either LEDs or an LCD. The following schematic shows a simple design of Digital Clock Circuit Diagram using AT89C4051. The AT89C4051 is a low-voltage, high-performance CMOS 8-bit microcontroller with 4K bytes of Flash programmable and erasable read-only memory.
This digital clock circuit design uses a 16 x 2 lines LCD display. The first line shows "DAY" and "DATE" in the second line. Time format "TIME" is 12:00 with am/pm. Port 1 of the controller (AT89C4051) is used as the data lines for the LCD (starting from pin 7- pin14 of LCD). The source code for this project design was written in C-language.
